Students of Orange County High School have only been in class for three days so far, but they are already setting the bar for excellence.
The school honored all students who scored 600 points on their Standards of Learning tests from last year. There were about 400 students on-hand to get their certificate showing their academic excellence on a number of subjects.
"We had awards in the areas of history. We had awards in the areas of writing and reading, presidential awards, and awards for [SOLs], so we had a number of awards today," said Orange County High School Assistant Principal Ruth White.
Some students who earned their high school letter last year were also recognized with the letter, and a pin for their letterman jacket.
