A fundraiser event was held Saturday for Albemarle County Democrats.

Several hundred people showed up to support the party at Crozet Park.

The evening featured music, entertainment, a silent auction, and speeches from local Democrats.

Delegate David Toscano, candidate Al Weed, and Senator Creigh Deeds were among those in attendance.

One of the organizers of the event says it's a perfect atmosphere for the Democratic party.

"This is the kind of party that we are. We are kind of unstructured. We like to have things kind of free and loose and moving around. We get to know each other, we like each other, and we wnat to spend time with each other. That's what it's all about," said member Fred Hudson.

This was the 18th year for the annual event.
