There's good economic news for Charlottesville..
According to The Chamber Jobs Report 4,500 jobs were created between the years 2003 and 2005. The jobs that showed the most growth were: Retail Trade, Construction, Hospitality and Leisure and Business and Professional Services. The city hopes that this information will keep people from seeking employment in other towns and cities.
"We have to be about the business of creating and sustaining what we described as career ladder jobs for the community that is here and the community that we know is coming here", explained Chamber of Commerce President Timothy Hulbert.
Manufacturing was the only field to show a decline in growth over this period. To view the complete report, by clicking www.chamberhub.com.
