Cadets and midshipmen are marching for 24 in honor of Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action.

The event is organized and run by the students at UVa. All 250 members of the Army, Navy, and Air Force ROTC programs are participating.

The 24-hour vigil concludes at 3:15 on Tuesday in front of the rotunda with a 21-gun salute, singing of the national anthem, and an F-16 formation flyover. The guest speaker is a B-52 Navigator who was shot down and held prisoner by the Vietnamese in Hanoi. He was released on after almost 100 days in captivity.

"See that's why we have this day, so we don't forget about them because it's important to honor those men and women who have served our country in such an honorable way," said Cadet Ryan Laine U.S. Air Force.

Last year UVa cadets and midshipman won a national award for being the best supporters of the POW/MIA Awareness Program.
