The University of Virginia's newspaper is pulling two controversial comics that ran recently.

The 'Cavalier Daily' says the paper is regretful that many took offense to the cartoons.

The comics depicted Jesus Christ in ways that some called blasphemous.

According to editors, that wasn't the intent of the artist, nor the paper.

The artist has also issued a statement apologizing, which editors put in place of the comics.
