There was a special tee time at the Meadowcreek Golf course on Tuesday.
The Charlottesville Parks & Recreation Department sponsored a golf clinic for disabled citizens.
People with disabilities were able to work on their swing one-on-one with instructors and to get help from rehabilitation professionals. Organizers said it was a great way to keep everyone motivated.
"Just like everyone else they need to be actively involved in recreation for fun, for creativity, to maintain their physical health, and emotional health," said Mildred Spicer with the Charlottesville Department of Parks & Recreation.
The amateur golfers came from Charlottesville as well as Albemarle and Nelson counties.
