A group of 5th graders are learning history by trying on old clothing and trading goods.
Students at Meriwether Lewis got a hands-on history lesson about Jamestown by carrying the tools they would have used and wearing the gear.
The Jamestown Outreach Program is introducing students to the settlement before their November 1st field trip.
"They can describe and actually get a feel for what it was like to be an indentured servant or what it was to wear the heavy metal hat of the Englishman," said 5th Grade Teacher Meg Vest.
Next year is the 400th Anniversary of Jamestown.
