Delegate Rob Bell thanked some area residents Monday afternoon for helping him pass legislation.
He presented several people with the "2006 Citizen Lawmaker Award", including a woman named Jenny Hogan, whose bill charges convicted peepers with a felony.
Hogan said "I think it's really good for people to understand that they really do have an influence into what goes on in Richmond. We sometimes get caught up in the politics of everything, but a lot of times that's not what's important. The important part is the legislation that's introduced seeing that good bills get passed."
The award ceremony took place at the Albemarle County circuit court building.
