Louisa County investigators are looking for grave vandals.
Detectives say someone dug up a 19th century grave. The grave has since been covered over.
The Civil War cemetery is the resting place for about 11 family members in a remote area of Louisa County.
“A hole was dug approximately three feet deep, two foot wide and about four-and-a-half foot long and I did find several hand tools within this hole,” said Detective Lieutenant Buck Garner of the Louisa County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators say there is no way of knowing if the grave digger was looking for Civil War artifacts.
