This weekend, the All American Honor Guard is praising those who have served. The 10th annual All American Military History Weekend kicks off Saturday.

The event will be located on the front lawn of the Albemarle County Office Building. Officials said it's a family friendly event, where you can expect to see Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen from all periods of our history.

"For people who do this as a hobby and as a profession and who are going to talk about it with some passion, it helps to spark young people to read about our history and value what it means to be an American," said Lt. Jim Bond, a member of the All American Honor Guard.

The event is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $5 per family. The money raised goes toward sponsoring area scholarships for students pursuing careers in education.
