The city of Charlottesville wants to help you save money on your energy bill.

This afternoon the city held their first annual community energy fair at the downtown pavilion. Vendors provided information about fuel assistance programs, weatherization programs as well as energy conservation tips. It's all designed to help citizens keep their energy bills down.

“Each year we have had an increase in the number of families who need help with their heating costs. And we have over the years garnered a lot of community support. There are a lot of local resources for that and we wanted to try an additional approach to help people conserve energy so hopefully their bills won't be so high, “ Sue Moffett of Charlottesville Social Services.

The energy fair was from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
