Albemarle County Supervisors voted not to approve the $500,000 that Scottsville needed for the Streetscape Project.

The project is over Scottsville's budget. Therefore, the town council asked Albemarle County to help pay some of the extra money that would be used to revamp their downtown. Instead, the board members came up with another way to contribute.

"What they did do is talk to Scottsville town officials and said that if Scottsville was able to raise some portion of the money through other means that they would certainly look at matching some part of that amount," said Albemarle County Spokesperson Lee Catlin.

Scottsville will have a few weeks to figure out if they would like to accept the offer. The next Albemarle County Board of Supervisors meeting is next Wednesday night.
