About 120 golfers hit the links for a good cause. The Spring Creek Golf Course hosted the event, which raised money for the Toys for Tots Organization in Charlottesville and surrounding counties.
This is the second year for Toys for Tots in the area, and while, the final tally of donations has not been totaled yet, organizers are happy with the generosity of the community.
"Last year, we served just over 400 families, which was about 1200 kids", explained Charlottesville Area Toys for Tots Organizer Angie B. Jefferson.
The organization says however, they’d like to do even better this year. "I hope to double that this year," says Jefferson.
Not only was the day full of golf, but also the afternoon featured a Chili Cook-off. The next event for Toys for Tots will be November 24th.
