Men Wear Heels to Raise Money for SARA

May 3, 2009

Several men walked the Downtown Mall Saturday afternoon in high heels and women's clothing... all for a good cause.

The "Walk a Mile in her Shoes" event is an annual effort put on by the Sexual Assault Resources Agency. The event aims to raises money for men and women who have been victims of sexual assault, getting them the support and resources they need.

While it is a silly image, many men took Saturday's event very seriously.

"I just really want to send a message to the women in my life that not all men are for sexual assault and for domestic violence. Many of us, in fact, are out to protect them and want to protect them, and we would not stand for that at all," said participant, Will Paradis.

Some of the participants strapped on high heels for the day included CBS19's own Dan Schutte, Brantley Ussery, and Matt Holmes.
