The new Harris Teeter grocery store in Crozet is open for business.
Doors opened at 8:00 am Wednesday morning after a brief ribbon cutting ceremony.
The store has energy saving measures like sky lights, special parking for hybrid vehicles, and biodegradable bags. The new Harris Teeter even has a recycling center in the lobby. Shoppers say they're noticing these green efforts.
"A lot of people are excited about it because it's a green store. I'm a recycler. We love our local store but we're excited to have a bigger selection," says Sharon Helt, a Harris Teeter shopper.
The new Harris Teeter store brings 60 new jobs to the area. It's located on Route 250 in the Crozet Blue Ridge Shopping Center.
