Those driving near the old Albemarle County office building probably saw an unusual formation on Friday.

The American Friends Service Committee put boots and shoes on display honoring the lives of those lost in the war in Iraq.

The group arranged more than 150 pairs of footwear for all the Virginians who have died serving their country.

'Eyes Wide Open' is a smaller version of a national display representing service-members and civilians.

The 'Eyes Wide Open' display moves to the Downtown Mall on Saturday.
