The Virginia Discovery Museum turned 20-years-old. In celebration of the anniversary, an anonymous donor gave the museum $200,000, which is the largest donation in its history.
Board members said the money will be used to build new and improved exhibits for the kids.
"There is such a demand for what we are doing. We had a record attendance in our fiscal year 2006. Over 50,000 people walked through our doors. We do birthday parties and lots of people come for a positive wholesome happy experience," said Sue Frazier, who is the president of the Museum's Board of Directors.
The new exhibits are expected to be finished within the next few years.
