With two weeks to go before election day, the tightly contested election season has got campaigners out in full force.
"This is crunch time for election season," Derek Jones of Jim Webb's campaign said.
Those promoting Republican candidates were utilizing the power of the written word.
"We're sending out letters today, asking people to vote for Virgil Goode," Alan Collier, Republican Precinct captain said.
Meanwhile Jim Webb's Democratic camp was hitting the phone lines.
"We're trying to find out who our friends are. We're calling Democrats who don't vote all that frequently, we're calling Independents who vote quite frequently we just don't necessarily know how," Jones continued.
With the race between George Allen and Jim Webb tight for the Virginia seat in the Senate, both campaigns say they plan to hit the ground running to get out the vote.
"In a campaign as statistically as this is, or as the polls suggest it is, it becomes a ground game," Jones said.
"You have to get your supporters to vote, very important to get these people out and remind them to vote," Collier added.
Everything from old-fashioned door-to-door canvassing to traditional mail outs and phone calls, campaign crews are pulling out all the stops. With both groups optimistic, the race to the finish is sure to be just that.
"I think we do have the right candidate, I think he has had from the beginning a message that resonates with Virginia voters who think it's time for a change," Jones said.
"If we can get our base out there, we'll have full victory," Collier said.
Volunteers said they plan to dedicate ten hours a day of campaigning up until election day, and just a reminder, Election Day is November 7th.
