All Albemarle County Schools took part in National Make A Difference Day today, helping charities and those in need in our community.
One of the schools making a difference was CATEC. Students from the Automotive Technology class offered free oil changes to needy members of the community who qualified for the event. One student said it gives them a chance to give back to the community while doing something he loves to do.
"Changing oil and working on cars kind of relaxes me down and keeps me calm. Making cars work good is what I like doing," said Jacob Keithley.
Make A Difference Day is the single largest day of volunteering around the Country. It takes place every fourth Saturday in October.
