Despite the warm weather, PACEM homeless shelter opens tomorrow evening for the winter season.
This year's opening includes a new women's shelter, being held at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church on University Avenue. PACEM hopes the women's shelter can provide some long term help for those in need.
"We are very excited to be able to offer the same level of shelter, service and ministry to the women that we have been for the past two winters for the men. We had a short term kind of lodging program that we were able to put homeless women and children up in hotels for a few nights," said PACEM Director Dave Norris.
The men's shelter will also open at First United Methodist Church on High Street.
