Members in the education community are joining together to help students and businesses.
Superintendents of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Nelson and Charlottesville schools signed the Piedmont Virginia-Business Education Alliance agreement.
The agreement encourages local businesses to promote and sponsor programs designed to enhance academic success for students.
"The desire is that as businesses work with our school systems everybody wins. We can create a very education-favoring environment, and we can demonstrate the value of education," said President Frank Friedman of Piedmont Virginia Community College.
The price tag for the new pact runs around $150,000. The bulk of it will be paid by the local school divisions.
