The high winds on Thursday night were strong enough to knock down trees off Piedmont Avenue in Charlottesville.
Embark crews were out today inspecting the phone lines in that area.
So far, they say no customers are affected by the downed trees, but, phone and Internet services may be affected when the crews begin fixing the problem.
"There's possibility that they are going to have to replace the poll even though they are not snapped yet. But as you can see looking back here they are going to have a very hard time getting back there. You can't get a truck back there," Mark Whitis, a resident in that area.
Crews say they will be working on the lines through the weekend.
