The holidays are sure to bring smiles to the faces of teens in our area.
WAHU FOX 27, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, and Q’doba Mexican Restaurant teamed up to help the Salvation Army with the WAHU stockings drive.
Over the past few weeks the team has been working hard, with help from the community, to fill stockings for 13 to 17 year-olds in our area.
The drive was especially important because it targeted under-privileged teenagers; who are often times left out around the holidays.
“it kind of fills a gap in the community, a Christmas safety net with the teenagers able to have something special for Christmas. Something they can look forward to. It’s just been a marvelous thing and it's been bigger this year than last year, and we hope it keeps growing this year, “said Major Bruce Smith with the Salvation Army.
Over 300 stockings were collected, which is well over the set goal of 233.
