A local bakery is donating sweets to recovering soldiers in the Washington, DC area.
Chandler's Bakery put in about 12-hours of man power to create a gingerbread house. It's designed in patriotic colors and will be served at the soldiers' Christmas party.
"Just because we like to support the troops and bring some joy into their holiday season. It's a tough time for them," said Carolyn Mucherino of Chandler's Bakery.
The bakery has also been sending cookies over to Iraq for over a year.
