Five people are charged with stealing $87,000 from applicants for housing at a Norfolk apartment complex.
According to U.S. District Court documents, the five people worked together from January to March to steal personal information from those who applied for housing at the North Shore Gardens Apartments.
They allegedly used that information to identify people's accounts at Navy Federal Credit Union, applying for loans in the names of the victims and to liquidate those accounts.
All five people have been charged with conspiracy, bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.
