Decision-makers in Albemarle County have selected their new leader.
The county's board of supervisors chose former vice-chairman Kenneth Boyd as the new chairperson. The board also moved David Wyant into the vice-chairman's seat.
Former Chairman Dennis Rooker remains on the board.
"This is the typical way they normally do it with the vice-chair assuming the chairperson's responsibilities," said Albemarle County Spokesperson Lee Catlin.
There is no limit to the number of years a chairperson can serve on the board of supervisors.
