A Charlottesville woman is facing felony assault charges after an altercation with a police officer on Thursday.
Elisabeth Epps, 29, is accused of spitting on a police officer early Thursday morning in the Market Street parking garage.
Charlottesville Police say friends of Epps were trying to get her out of a locked, parked car after a night of drinking. When Epps would not respond to continued police instructions, officers broke the back window to get her.
After police removed Epps from the car, she continued kicking and screaming and then spit in an officer's face.
Epps was taken into custody and charged with assault, resisting arrest and drunk in public.

Is it true she spit on a cop? If so she should have been sprayed with chemicals until she rendered the UVA law school uninhabitable.

On all the websites that mention this story, one question is repeated. "How do you get arrested for sleeping in your car?" Where has it be verified that she was ever sleep? And you get arrested by being drunk and mentally unstable in your car after 1 a.m. when the parking deck closes and the attendant asks you to leave. Google this chick's name and everything comes up roses (well, this is a blemish)... Kaplan LSAT Teacher of the Year, taking her little blk boy to see the inauguration, court advocate, etc. She's obviously smart, just insane. She'll probably get these charges dropped, which she should. However, should she be a lawyer? Hell, no! She can regulate her emotions. If she was poppin' a couple of pills before this, she's poppin' like 10 now. It must be a hard life for little miss, and undoubtedly for her son.
