The Charlottesville Bar Association is recommending two candidates for an open Albemarle County circuit court judge seat.
They say former prosecutor Cheryl Higgins and General district court judge Robert Downer are both highly qualified.
Now it’s up to local state delegates to make a recommendation to the general assembly. They say they will hold a public forum within the next two weeks.
Seven candidates were vying for Judge Peatross's vacated position. The Judge retires the end of this month.
