Western Albemarle High School is educating parents and students about alcohol use and the law.
School officials say there have been no recent issues involving alcohol at the school but last year a group of students were arrested for possession of alcohol.
Tonight's event includes speakers from the commonwealth's attorney's office and the police department.
“Because there is alcohol around our children need to be aware of it. They need to understand it makes an impact on their life. It can affect them and it can have a tragic consequence,” said Western Albemarle Principal Chris Dyer.
The meeting is Monday night from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Western Albemarle.
