The Boys and Girls Club in Charlottesville is celebrating a milestone.
The membership total at the children's club recently hit 1,000. The recreational center near Buford Middle School serves as a place where kids can go after school to study and enjoy themselves.
The director says it's a big day for the boys and girls club.
"I think it is only going up from here. I think the more kids we can serve, the better position we will be in for the community to go to the next level, and build a bigger to reach more kids in the future," said Boys & Girls Club Director Eric Cardella.
The club's director added reaching one-thousand memberships is proof that his club is a place where kids want to stay busy and out of trouble.
