Two people were sent to the hospital Sunday night after the SUV they were in, went off the southbound side of the Route 250 bypass.
Police also said the vehicle may have been involved in a previous hit and run earlier in Charlottesville.
It happened just before 10 o'clock near Ivy Road.
Police aren't sure what caused the driver to swerve, causing the accident.
Both the driver and the passenger suffered minor injuries and are expected to be okay.
Police are investigating.
