Police Arrest Four After Car Chase

A police officer was on his way to work when a routine traffic stop turned into a pursuit on Monocan Trail.

The driver of a red Cadillac and the officer got into a scuffle when the driver got back in to the car and sped away.

The pursuit started on Monocan Trail and ended a short distance later on the off ramp of Interstate 64 east to Route 29 north. Then ended as the car crashed into a guard rail.

Four people inside the car fled after the it crashed, but were caught. Authorties are not sure why the driver sped away. One of the four suspects is wanted on a federal probation warrant.

No one was injured during the chase and arrest. The ramp to Route 29 north closed for over an hour during the chase and investigation.
