Authorities in Nelson County are searching for a man dressed from head to toe in camo, who tried to rob the clerk at the Piney River Post Office Saturday.

Nelson County sheriff’s officers are putting up hundreds of wanted posters after an attempted robbery at a local post office Saturday.

"We're going to be posting the flyer today, offering a $10,000 reward to the arrest and conviction of the subject," said Nelson County Sheriff, David Brooks.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, dressed in full camo at the time. He is about 5-feet-10-inches tall and weighs between 150 and 160 pounds.

Sheriff Brooks tells CBS19 that the suspect crept up behind the clerk while she was trying to open the post office for business and demanded money.

"She [the clerk] told him she didn't have any [money]. He made a gesture like he was going to reach in his pocket, and she told him again 'I don't have any money,'" said Sheriff Brooks.

The suspect then casually walked away. Now, Sheriff Brooks is working with the Postal Inspection Service to solve this strange and alarming crime.

"When we have something like this where one of our employees is put in danger, we respond in full force and work jointly with local police," said U.S. Postal Inspector, David McGinnis.

Residents of Nelson County will likely find wanted signs on street corners and in several local businesses; all to keep this manhunt and its $10,000 reward in the public eye.
