Virginia's unemployment rate dropped in December, down from 2.8% in November to 2.7% in December.
The rate fell after holiday workers found jobs and some factory workers were called back for a short time.
The Virginia Employment Commission says that the numbers were helped by those factories calling workers back.
Among the lowest localities in the state were Loudoun and Albemarle counties, tied at 1.6%.
The highest was Danville at 8%.
