Authorities in Buckingham County say they were unable to save a fisherman after his boat capsized Friday night in a pond off White Rock Road.
Rescue officials say the 50 year old's boat flipped just before 7:30 and someone in the area made the call to police.
Crews from as far away as Charlottesville and Lake Monticello searched the murky waters for about an hour before they found the man's body using sonar.
Authorities have yet to release the fisherman's name or say whether alcohol may have played a factor.
