If you've caught any of American Idol this season, you're probably familiar with seeing thousands of potential pop stars vying for a spot as the country's next singing superstar.
Overnight fame and fortune may be appetizing, but for many musicians, it takes lots of practice, hard-work and patience.
Helen Horal is one such artist that has spent years perfecting her craft. A South Florida native, Helen began her musical career in high school. An avid music fan, she decided it wasn't enough to just listen to music, and decided to write her own.
After making a visit to Charlottesville as a teenager, Helen fell in love with the area and decided to make Charlottesville home.
Helen says she draws her inspiration from everyday events and the world around her. Helen's love of music knows no bounds, and she says she will continue to play whenever and wherever she can.
Right now, Helen is in the studio working on her new album, which is scheduled to be released in April.
