Over 100 athletes bowled their way to the top in the area three tournament for the special olympics, like Lee Stone who is always a top contender.
"Well without it we wouldn't be able to do the sports that we do, and compete like we do. I'm just glad it's here" said Special Olympic athlete Stone.
That's what makes these games so important. It gives the contenders a chance to play a sport, socialize and parents a chance to network.
"The rewards are just unbelieveable. In terms of seeing these guys having so much fun and gaining and achieving so much" said Gene Gordon, Special Olympics of Va.
The athletes are grouped by skill level. They play two games and average the score to declare winners.
"It's healthy competition and its all good sports. There're no losers here. Everybody wins"
