Governor Kaine has told state agencies to get ready to take any necessary action needed to aid in the response to and recovery from the severe winter weather.
The National Weather Service has forecasted between a quarter and a half inch of sleet and ice in the northern part of the state and the Shenandoah Valley.
According to the governor's office residents should prepare by collecting emergency supplies, and monitoring local weather information and other emergency instructions.
The Virginia Public Inquiry Center will be open on Wednesday from 8 am to 6 pm to field any questions that the public may have and provide emergency information toll free at 866-880-4288.
