Tuesday's winter weather also put a damper on Valentine's Day deliveries.

Flower shops that deliver to areas outside Albemarle County say they are closely watching the weather to see if it will be safe to make their deliveries.

"Weather permitting, we'll get everything out but we also are encouraging folks to come by and pick things up. It's a little more predictable for them to be able to pick their time come by and if they place an order in advance they just come in and don't have to worry about waiting," said Sheldon Anderson, of University Florist.

Anderson says the deliveries will only be suspended in worst case scenarios.
