A marine from the Shenandoah Valley, who was killed in Iraq last week, has been laid to rest. Mourners gathered yesterday to pay their respects to 19-year-old Lance Corporal Daniel Morris.
Morris was killed by a bomb at a checkpoint on February 14th. Morris' platoon leader, Second Lieutenant Tin Nguyen, spoke at the service yesterday calling Morris "the glue that kept the platoon together."
The family decided to bury him near their home instead of Arlington National Cemetery so that they could visit him whenever they wanted.
