Hundreds of University of Virginia employees were recognized for their outstanding community service.

This year, 3,700 employees participated in community service projects and raised a record amount in donations for the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign.

“All kinds of organizations throughout our region and the whole state benefit from this campaign and the university contributed over $800,000, [which is] far more than any other institution in the state. We are just delighted. It shows the generosity of UVa employees. In fact, the UVa people are very committed, not just to their university, but to their surrounding community and their entire state,” said Honorary CVC Chairman Larry Sabato.

Since 1999 UVa has contributed nearly $5,000,000 to charities through the CVC.
