A recent change in the state's electronic voting program is causing a bit of a back-up. But that's only because the local registrar's office is double checking all information on the new system to make sure it's correct.
"Everybody is still able to register to vote. We are in an excellent position right now, because we don't have an election for a while," explained Sheri Iachetta, Registrar in the City of Charlottesville. "I just want people to know and feel confident that this office is not going to send out anything that has incorrect information on it, which is why we're being very cautious."
More than 100 other areas of Virginia are also experiencing similar backups.
