Mallek Will Run for Albemarle County Board of Supervisors

March 13, 2007

Mallek will challenge White Hall District incumbent David Wyant. She said the biggest issue facing her district and Albemarle County is smart growth.

“Growth in general actually, is an umbrella for all the different environmental issues we have, because it's putting pressure on our air quality from traffic, from the congestion on our highways, the extra use of water, our sewage levels,” said Mallek. “All these things are related to the number of people moving in quickly and we are behind in providing for the services to meet these needs.”

This is the first time Mallek has run for office.
