March 16, 2007

In celebration of James Madison's 256th birthday the Montpelier Foundation hosted the grand opening of the new visitor center today at James Madison's Montpelier.

The 10,000 square foot vistor center is within walking distance to Madison's home and will provide a large reception area where visitors will begin their Montpelier experience. It will also house a cafe and a museum shop with books, artwork and different mementoes.

James Madison's montpelier is currently undergoing restoration to return it to it's original design.
