Two suspicious packages were found at Brownsville Elementary and Henley Middle School in Crozet Monday morning.

Albemarle County Police have not said what those packages were, but they say something was spray painted on them. Authorities brought in the bomb squad to investigate. Authorites eventually neutralized both packages.

Brownsville and Henley were both closed for the day. The students were bused over to Western Albemarle High School. No students were ever on school property during the investigation of the suspicious packages.

Brownsville students were dismissed at 11:30am and Henley students were sent home at 12:30pm. All after-school or special events at the two schools were cancelled.

Parents picked up their children at Western Albemarle High School. Students who were not picked up by their parents were taken home by bus.

Western Albemarle High School operated on its normal schedule Tuesday. There have been no announcements as to whether Brownsville Elementary or Henley Middle School will be open tomorrow.

Brownsville Kindergarten registration will be rescheduled after Spring Break.
