Early Morning Stabbing

March 30, 2007

Charlottesville Police are looking for a suspect in a stabbing that happened early Friday morning.

It happened around 3am near the intersection of Dale Avenue and Rose Hill Drive.

Cops said it was a drug deal gone wrong. The victim was apparently trying to buy crack cocaine, but a fight broke out and the victim was stabbed in the neck and shoulder.

That victim, a 46 year-old Charlottesville man, ran to Hardy Drive. That's where he was picked up by an ambulance. He was taken to UVA Medical Center and is expect to recover.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the suspect. He is described as a black male, between 35 and 40 years old. Call Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000, if you have any information.
