Hundreds of youngsters came out to the Charlottesville Pavilion Saturday afternoon for the city's annual Downtown Safe Halloween event.
Aside from trick-or-treating at some of the businesses on the Downtown Mall, kids enjoyed a moonbouce, a pumpkin patch, and got their faces painted.
For many, the highlight of the day was the costume contest. Officials with Charlottesville Parks and Recreation handed out prizes for different age groups and for the best family costume.
Good Morning Charlottesville anchor Cheryn Stone served as a judge for the contest.
