Virginia Football is in some trying times. After a tough loss last week to drop the Cavaliers from the top of the ACC Coastal Division, a win against Duke was much needed to stay alive in the conference championship race.

It was not meant to be. Will Snyderwine connected with five field goals and Thaddeus Lewis connected with Conner Vernon for the go-ahead touchdown for the Blue Devils as they snatched away a 17-12 lead late in fourth quarter.

Trailing 18-17, the Cavalier offense was getting desperate. Deep in their own territory, another costly turnover proved to be the nail in the coffin for the Hoos.

The Duke scoring was capped off by a Charlie Hatcher fumble recovery for a touchdown after Virginia quarterback Jameel Sewell fumbled with just over three minutes left in the game.

With the 28-17 loss, Virginia falls to 3-5 on the season and 2-2 in the ACC. The Cavs will try to rebound next week on the road as they travel to 19th ranked Miami.

Groh must go - horrible play calling. And Sewell needs to be reminded that he's supposed to HOLD ON TO THE BALL! Ridiculous - let's get this season over with already. Miami away next? Yeah, that should be fun...
