A 4-year-old child is sent to the hospital after being hit by a car, and investigators are looking into possible charges for the driver.
Police were on the scene at the 400 block of Dice Street in downtown Charlottesville.
When police got to the scene, they found the driver of a red GMC Jimmy that was involved in the accident.
Police took the driver to the station for further investigation.
They do not know whether charges will be filed against the driver, but they have ruled out alcohol as a factor.
Police say they will be speaking with the Commonwealth's Attorney as to whether charges will be filed.
