New Group Aimed At Improving City Parks

April 6, 2007

A new non profit group is aiming to improve Charlottesville city parks. Several people are forming the new group called "Friends of Charlottesville Area Parks and Recreation."

The group hopes to raise money for Charlottesville city parks to help improve the area's outdoor spaces along with Parks and Rec Department, although they are a separate organization.

The group is still looking for volunteers and board members to get involved. The city says it needs to $30 million in the Parks and Rec Department in the coming years.

If you would like to help you are asked to contact founding board members at 434-220-2800.
